Glock 43 X Switch - Shreveport, La. () - Agents from the New Orleans Field Division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) demonstrated a simple device in Shreveport on Tuesday that turns conventional semi-automatic Glock pistols into fully automatic weapons.
Shreveport police officials say we're seeing more and more of the device being used in shootings across the city. The ATF says the Glock switch is an illegal device classified as a machine gun under federal law.
Glock 43 X Switch
Glock is one of the most popular handguns in the United States. Now people browse the dark web, use 3D printers, or search sites like Etsy to buy a small, quarter-sized piece called a Glock Switch, which turns a Glock into a fully functional, but illegal, machine gun.

A Glock switch enables the weapon to fire 15 rounds in less than a second. With an extended clip on the same Glock, someone could efficiently fire 30 rounds in less than three seconds.
ATF was in Shreveport on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 to demonstrate how the Glock switch works and why it is so dangerous.()
Officials say the Glock Switch is so dangerous because of the gun's modified rate of fire and its accuracy. Even trained ATF agents struggle to soften the Glock's recoil when fired with a switch. Glocks are the most popular pistols in the world for a reason: they just work. 43X is no exception.

The release of the Glock 43 marked a significant change in Glock's product line. With a single-stock magazine instead of Glock's usual double-stock, the 43 was aimed at greater concealment than Glock's previous subcompacts, the Glock 26. Previous subcompacts were too thick because they were virtually the same thickness. than the full size models to accommodate the same magazines as the larger Glock models.
But switching to a single stock required Glock to make an entirely new frame and slide, a significant investment for a single pistol. With the Glock 43X, Glock is building an entire family of single-stock pistols based on the 43.
Like Glock's other "crossover" models (indicated by an X), the Glock 43X has a longer grip compared to slide length. It was first tested with the Glock 19X, which had a full-length Glock 17 grip with a shorter Glock 19 frame and stock. Since there was no "full size" single stock Glock when the 43X was manufactured, the Glock 43X only had one long grip, intended for a full hand grip, compared to the original Glock 43 which had a short grip that required a magazine extension for the little finger.
Interestingly, upon its initial release, the 43X featured only a PVD-coated stainless steel slide, breaking with Glock's tradition of using a black tenifer or NDLC coating on their slide. Glock's decision to do this is uncertain, but since the 43X is already an exotic model in their product line, being a crossover, the stainless slide is probably another element intended to make it even more of a feature. However, all black 43Xs were released in July, so the early stainless 43X chip release could be a marketing move.

Shooting wise, the 43X is another Glock. Released in 2019, it is the fifth generation Glock and therefore benefits from the improved trigger and firing barrel characteristics of the fifth generation. Most reviewers are praising the improved shootability that the longer crossover grip brings along with the increased ten-round capacity in the mag.
However, the Glock 43X may face stiff competition in the subcompact market from other recently released subcompacts. Sig Sauer, Inc. The P365 line has a thirteen-round capacity. Springfield Armory's Hellcat also competes in the subcompact market and has optic mounts standard on all pistols. The P365 has optical tracks as an optional upgrade on the P365XL model.
Glock has its own optic-ready models with the MOS system, but the MOS Glocks are double stack models because the MOS optic slot is only designed for wider slides. While some third-party manufacturers already offer milled Glock 43 slides for optics, Glock has yet to factory cut optics for the Glock 43 or any of its products, which could hurt its competitiveness against competing models.
However, with its extended grip, proven Glock action, and slim profile, the Glock 43X is one of the best options on the market today for those looking for a concealed carry pistol. Glocks are the most popular pistols in the world for a reason: they just work.

First Look: Hands on Glock 43X and Glock 48 Review [VIDEO] We were among the first to get our hands on the Glock 43X and Glock 48 to do a detailed review after putting 250 rounds through each of these 9mm pistols.
Unless you've been living under a rock, you've heard about the new Glock 43X and Glock 48, which were officially announced on January 2, 2019. People took to social media to voice their opinions about the gun. Before you actually see, handle or shoot. I admit I had my own opinions about both pistols when Glock announced them. At first glance, it didn't look like a pistol that would fit into my daily carry setup. But I love shiny new things, so I was looking forward to checking one out.
I thought I would visit him for the first time in the upcoming Shot Show 2019. But luckily I was able to get my hands on them this week to check them out. While I wasn't eager to add more to my workload before leaving for Vegas this Sunday, I couldn't turn down the offer to put the Glock 43X and Glock 48 to the test.

Initially, I was going to do separate reviews on each of these pistols, but they are so similar that I decided to combine them both into one review. The difference is that the Glock 43X has a similar length to the Glock 43 and the Glock 48 has a similar length to the Glock 19.
First off, I want to say that I am not a Glock fan. But I'm far from a Glock hater. I currently carry a Glock 19 MOS and a Glock 43 depending on what I'm carrying that day. But I recently went back to carrying a Glock in early 2018. Before that I had a Springfield Armory XD Mod.2. I'll leave the reason for the switch to another article. The XD has been my primary EDC since its release in 2014. Before switching to the XD, I owned a Glock 26, a Glock 23, and a Taurus PT-140, which was my first carry gun until it broke during a weekend handgun training course.
I say this only to show that I am not married to a single manufacturer or gun. I have owned several Berettas and still love to shoot them today. I grew up shooting Berettas. The pistols my father had were Berettas and cowboy guns, I don't remember the model. I don't carry any of them or use them as my home defense pistols. They are nostalgic and fun for me to shoot at the range.
With that out of the way, let's get to the actual review. Here are the specs for both the Glock 43X and the Glock 48. I've also included some popular pistols for comparison.

I didn't have a Sig P365 to compare them with, but Gun Talk's Glock G43X vs. Watch the P365 video here.
Both the Glock 43X and Glock 48 are single-stock 9mm pistols, building on the success of the Glock 42 .380 and Glock 43 9mm. Glock classifies them as the Silver Slimline series. Both have the same grip length as the Glock 19 Compact. When I first saw the words "Glock 43X" I thought it might be a Glock 43 with a longer barrel and slide, which sounds interesting. But no, they went the Glock 19X route to make the grip higher and keep the barrel and slide the same for the 43X. As for the Glock 48, it's basically a thin, single-stock Glock 19.
The silver nPVD coated chip and bezels are two other features that stand out. Whether they will offer the pistols in a regular black finish remains to be seen. The sights on both rifles I received are standard factory polymer sights but are available with steel and night sights.
The grip design is similar to the Glock 43
