Glock Switch 3d Blueprint - I started the Glock project on February 24, 2018. After about 546 hours, I put the finishing touches on the animation:
As with all projects, I started with a lot of research on the subject. World of Guns was an absolute lifesaver when discovering the Glock. Slowing down the animation, hiding parts, etc. was very easy to break. Of course, many reference images were used to capture some of the finer details.

After I had a better understanding of how the Glock worked, I started building the model. As a starting place for the look, I purchased a pre-built Glock 19 model from TurboSquid. The interior had to be fully modeled to accommodate all the working parts.

In the end, I created about 50 separate parts for the entire model in Cinema 4D:
After completing the rig, I had to expose the UVs on the frame, slide, barrel, and magazine. This was necessary to properly texture the pieces. RizomUV made it very easy and fun to do:
Once I was satisfied with the story, I was ready to move on to animation. Cinema 4D's capture system helped organize each of my shots:
There was no way I could capture every frame on my 2012 MacBook Pro. I've heard a lot of great things about Pixel Plow and decided to give it a try. It was very easy and cheap to show an animation of about 3 minutes. If you want to use a render farm, I highly recommend them.

The final step was to combine all the frames in After Effects. Here I added special effects and transitions to really pop things up.
I used a wonderful man named Andy Taylor for the voice in the animation. I highly recommend it if you are looking for professional sound in your projects.
The music in the animation is the song Killer Tracks. They are a little more expensive, but have a large library of materials to choose from.
